Chronic Toxic Overload
With the rapid development of toxic chemicals and pesticides since WWII, we as a
species have suffered an unprecedented assault on our chemical makeup. US industries manufacture and import about 75,000 chemicals, using
3,000 of them at the rate of more than a million pounds a year.
Today's children are exposed to more toxins and are carrying around the greatest
toxic overload humanity has ever experienced. The burden is compromising their systems in ways
doctors, scientists and other researchers never anticipated.
Is it worth being concerned about?
A Chronic Toxic Overload is created when hundreds of unnatural chemicals find themselves in the
body. Today we are fighting diseases such as
-
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
-
ADD
-
Autism
-
Parkinson’s
-
Alzheimer’s
-
Multiple Sclerosis
-
Lou Gehrig’s disease.
Toxic Overload is a Key Factor
Any substance can be toxic at a high enough dose. One of the ways you can combat
toxic overload is to pay attention to your digestive system, the point at which all food is digested and carried to the rest of the
body.
The 1976 Toxic Substances Control Act meant to ensure the safety of commercial chemicals. It essentially deemed 63,000
existing chemicals "safe as used" the day the law was passed, through mandated, en masse approval for use with no safety
scrutiny. It forced the government to approve new chemicals within 90 days when a company
applied. This happens at an average pace of seven per day.
Needless to say, not many studies are done before new chemicals are put on the market. The act does not allow the EPA to require that the industry keep chemicals off the market as a precaution to
protect public health. Rather, the chemicals have to be proven unsafe first! The EPA has issued regulations to control only nine chemicals since the federal Toxic Substances Control Act
was enacted.
Heavy metal toxicity is the underlying cause of many chronic illnesses. If you
have an autoimmune disorder such as multiple sclerosis, allergies, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, lupus,
irritable bowel syndrome, interstitial cystitis, systemic candidiasis or a multitude of others, you can be sure that metal and/or chemical
toxicity is playing at least some role in your disorder.
